Our success is built on a solid foundation made up of great events and exceptional partners, donors and guests who share our vision and “Believe” in our cause. By providing an opportunity to share a laugh, tear and memory, all while generating the necessary funds to fight; we have generated a passion to succeed. Our gala and golf tournaments are sold out months in advance and we have developed a following of passionate, repeat attendees from the Cambridge and K-W area who look forward to our events.
Your involvement is about making a difference in the lives of children living with and beyond cancer, and yes, you can make a difference! You will be among others who share our passion for enriching the lives of others and have fun in the process. We sincerely hope you’ll join us for one or more of our events and experience the joy that comes from “putting smiles back where they belong”, on the faces of our children.
We Believe we can make a difference and we hope you do too!
Work for a Cure is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness and providing support for children and families affected by cancer. We are a grass roots group that was founded in 2005. We are 100% volunteer based and direct all of our funds back to our local community.
Our vision is to “Give where we Live”. By early 2017 our total contributions to our community exceeded one million dollars! We have managed these funds by directing them in different ways. Firstly, $500,000 has been committed to a new Pediatric area of the Cambridge Memorial Hospital that will bear our name. This area will reinforce our mission, vision and values and will provide comfort for families during their stay. Secondly, through Coast to Coast Against Cancer Foundation, we helped fund pediatric cancer programs, which directly impact our residents, as we have seen firsthand when meeting children in need of support. Lastly, through our partnership with Go Gold Cambridge, we are here for local families ensuring they have the necessary resources for treatment and beyond.
In 2018 we will continue our commitment to support pediatric cancer research and local families with children diagnosed with cancer. We are also excited about our new partnership with Ronald McDonald House of South Cenral Ontario, who we have discoverd, share a similar passion and vision. In 2018 we will provide financial support as well as time and resources to ensure that, in the words of RMH, we provide families in crisis a home to share everyday moments when life is far from ordinary.
